BMW M4 Drifting on the Edge of an Aircraft Carrier!

BMW M4 Drifting on the Edge of an Aircraft Carrier
At first I was skeptical about the BMW M4. I mean, why would you buy one when you have the M3 and M5, both of which have so much history behind them? And then they came up with the 1M and the M6, which made the selection process even broader. But after seeing this video, if it is indeed real (they put a race track on top of an aircraft carrier), I think the BMW M4 will already go down into the history books for having done what is probably one of the most awesome and daring drift stunts in history, even though it’s only been published 2 days ago.

Atoy Customs 1JZ-Powered Mercedes-Benz 190E Drift Car

Purists would say this is blasphemy. As much as we have nothing but the utmost respect for German engineering, there’s something about engine transplants that tickles the mind. And Filipino Ingenuity calls for the raw and reliable grunt of turbocharged JDM power. And in this case, Toyota 1JZ power into this Atoy Customs Mercedes-Benz 190E. The result is one of the most competitive drift cars in this this side of the world.

Custom 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback GT by Alex Restoration Custompinoyrides Car Photography Manila Philippines Philip Aragones THE aSTIG pic1
Introduced in 1964, the Ford Mustang celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. And with that, Alex Restoration has built this marvelous Custom Ford Mustang Fastback GT as a tribute to 50 years of the Mustang. And by “custom,” I mean all-out custom – from the usual suspects like power and handling modifications, all the way to the nitty-gritty stuff such as the gas tank, cooling system, and electricals. It features a spec sheet that would make any hardcore car enthusiast drool with envy, and would make rice boys cry home to their mommy. I mean, even if you did own an Eleanor Mustang, this is still a whole new monster altogether.

Read on to see the rest of the gallery, as well as the full spec sheet of this magnificent creation…

Dekotora Fire Trucks by Fire Wolf Motors

Dekotora Fire Trucks by Fire Wolf Motors Custom Pinoy Rides Car Photography Manila Philippines Philip Aragones pic1
Unbelievable! That’s how I can describe the Dekotora (Japanese to English translation: Decoration Trucks) Fire Trucks by Fire Wolf Motors. Unbelievable because I cannot believe the level of detail and craftsmanship that was involved in putting together one of these fire trucks.

Since Fire Wolf Motors is a direct importer of fire trucks in the country, then I would assume, though correct me if I’m wrong, that the customizations on these trucks were done in Japan, prior to being imported into our country.

I wonder if this genre of customization would catch on here in the Philippines, but either way, I think it stands out and exhibits attitude. Isn’t that one of the things that we want whenever we tune our rides?

Ah, the iconic Datusn 240Z a.k.a. “Devil Z.” We’ve posted some of these previously, though in the more common colors. But it’s the first time I’m seeing one locally screaming in flashy orange. And wow, it looks really nice! And I love the stance on this one. Meaty fitment with minimal fender gap, very much form and function.

Ian King’s BM-Vette (marriage between a BMW and a Corvette) is certainly one of the Filipino-built custom cars that made waves across international waters, having become famous across the globe (see previous article here). So when Ian tells us that he’s made the car badder and wilder, we just had to come and see it ourselves.

Lo and behold, he wasn’t kidding! It’s wider (bespoke widebody), lower (via air suspension), and more menacing than ever before. We got to chat with Ian to find out why he chose to modify it this way, what inspired him, and what led him to create such a masterpiece. Read on to see the rest of the story…

The Philippines’ 1st 8-sec. Car – Jonathan Tiu’s 1,318WHP Nissan GT-R

Photos by Philip Aragones and THE aSTIG

The Philippines 1st 8-sec Car - Jonathan Tiu's 1318WHP Nissan GT-R Custom Pinoy Rides Car Photography Manila Philippines pic1
What does it take to have the quickest car in the country? It seems like Jonathan Tiu has nailed the formula with his “Tiunami 1.” What he did was to take a Nissan GT-R, have the VR38DETT engine modified by the insane (I mean that in a good way) dudes at AMS Perfomrance with their Alpha 14 advanced engine program package, where the VR38 is sleeved with ductile iron for strength, and the bore size is increased, bumping up the displacement to 4.0 liters. With some added witchcraft and wizardry, they’ve ramped the power up to a staggering 1,318 horsepower and 1,019 lbs-ft at the wheels – about three times the horsepower of a stock GT-R!

To give you some perspective on this, ladies and gentlemen, this car is actually Quicker and Faster than ANY Super car or Hyper car on the planet.
