If you’ve ever watched the Transformers movie then you’re very much familiar with Bumblebee. So much that when you see a yellow Chevrolet Camaro, you and other people around you go like “Look it’s Bumblebee!”. Even the masses would go “Uy oh si Bambolbi!“. Kidding aside, all I’m trying to say is Bumblebee is now seen as synonymous to Yellow Camaro.

Now Jan, the owner of this Bumblebee Camaro-inspired Chevrolet Optra, has a somewhat funny story to tell as to how his Optra suddenly turned into Bumblebee. And for us people who love customizing cars, then this story is something we’d be able to relate to.

Sport Bikes Can Also Look Good Standing Still!!!

The CPR Car Photography Club has surely taken-off since it was launched in the beginning of 2011. Totally awesome to find a lot of Pinoys who are into motorsports photography not just in the Philippines, but abroad as well! Just shows you how talented Pinoys.

Here’s a photo taken at Mt. Fabre, Singapore by CPR Car Photography Club member Arvin Lim of Arvin Lim Photography. When I first saw this shot, I was speechless.


Yamaha sport bikes surely are pocket rockets, and look good when you see someone riding it, taking it through its paces. But here, it looks just as good standing still, while everything else goes by. Very ironic. Can’t believe that a sport bike could look so serene, yet deep inside, you truly know what it’s capable of doing – blasting down the road, making the world go by in a blur.

Daredevil Car Photography

We usually feature cars at CustomPinoyRides. But now that its 2011, and we’ve launched the CPR Car Photography Club, which we believe is the first of its kind in the world, this time, we’re featuring an awesome photo captured by a car photographer.

Why awesome? Because there’s a story behind it. And we’ve called it “Daredevil Car Photography” because of that. The “Daredevil” in question is Andrew Rodriguez. And here’s his story:

THE MOST memorable shot in my entire photography life…

Taken during the 2009 Driftwave Series… Round 2 if i’m not mistaken. It was during practice session. The S13 went wide on the 1st turn, I was on the perimeter barriers behind the tire wall. I knew the car was gonna hit the tires but I decided to stay on a few seconds longer to get the shot I wanted. CLICK! JUMP! No dice… The car touched several feet of tire wall which in turn moved the perimeter barriers back a few feet which, in turn, hit me as I jumped off. Landed on my knees and one hand (errr… I had to make sure my camera was safe in mid-air). Got up, checked the last frames I shot, limped to another spot with a torn pant leg and scratched up knee but I had a grin on my face so wide people thought I was nuts after seeing what happened.

Yes… the things Photographers do to get the perfect shots. As the saying goes: “Walk three steps forward, shoot four times as much.” But in this case: “Walk, run, jump, click click click click click, kapow!”

Stanced Euro: 1987 Mercedes-Benz E-Class – It’s VIP Yo!

They say the history of VIP Style modifications have their roots linked to the Yakuza, where they modified rear-wheel-drive Japanese sedans to look like limousines, taking some design cues from Mercedes AMG cars, instead of using European sedans, so as to be discreet against police and rival gangs.

But hey, we ain’t in Japan. So there’s no reason not to do VIP Style modifications to Euro sedans, particularly this beautiful 1987 Mercedes Benz 260E.

Looking awesome in its stance, sitting with the tires stretched over staggered 8.5 and 9.5-inch wide, 19-inch diameter AMG Mono Aero II wheels, and tucked in the fenders with super-tight fitment, this ride looks even more elegant and regal than a lot of modern-day executive cars.

Now throw in a Hella Bumper, Side Skirts, and Rear Bumper, PIAA Fog Lights, an Avantgarde Grille, ’95 look hood and headlights, and you’ve got yourself a winner!

Mulholland Drive is a pristine stretch of road in Los Angeles. It is also home to some of the most exclusive homes in the world. Celebrities such as Jack Nicholson, Pamela Anderson, Reese Witherspoon, and Paris Hilton live nearby.

Pristine I should say, that is, until Tanner Foust went by in his 600+HP Rockstar Energy Drink TRD Nascar V8-powered Scion tC Drift Car, leaving trails of burnt rubber in his wake.
