This is probably one of the last races to be ever held in at Subic International Raceway before it is completely closed. And Circuit Showdown did not disappoint. Just check out Patrick Bautista getting the AE92 Corolla some “Air Time”.

I don’t know what the deal is the ROTA haters out there. Whatever the case, ROTAs are ROTAs. And if ROTA has got haters, then it means they’re in ROCK STAR status!

Circuit Showdown round 6 goes back to Batangas Racing Circuit. But this time, the crew created a new track layout, which allowed more slicing and dicing amongst the racers on the track.

Read on to see the race photos and other action shots. Enjoy!

On the grid. Tension arises as adrenaline starts pumping through your veins in anticipation of the race. And seeing the fully stripped-down racing cars you’re up against makes the suspense even more exciting.

Go!!! The long straightaway at BRC allows drag launches for those with hard-accelerating engines.

Circuit Showdown 5th Leg at Clark International Speedway – July 3, 2010 (Action Shots)

The thrilling, adrenaline-filled racing series – Circuit Showdown, goes back to the same venue where it held its very first leg – Clark International Speedway. But this time around, it was even more action-packed than ever before!

Read on to see the race photos as well as shots of the awesome cars that participated in this event.

The shot above shows the sprint to the first corner, right after the start of the race. Here’s how it all started from the grid…

Inaki Araneta on the 3-Series BMW, Gerard Loy on the turbocharged EG Civic, Jonmark Ong on the blue EK Civic, Ayrton Nigel Cuesta on the Orange EG Civic, the red EK Civic by Cabspeed Cabanatuan, and Patrick Bautista in the AE92 Corolla.

Cabspeed, with their background in drag racing, charges hard out of the line and into the first corner. Jonmark ong tries to sneak in on the inside line. But as they accelerate off the first corner, its the red Cabspeed EK Civic that takes the lead, followed by Gerard Loy in the black EG Civic, and Inaki Araneta in the 3-Series BMW.

Here, Jonmark Ong driving the blue EK Civic is seen trying to make it past Inaki Araneta’s 3-Series BMW.

And makes it! But is already too far away from the heavily modified Civics of Gerard Loy and Cabspeed Cabanatuan.

On this grid, we have Marc Peter M. Thomann in the Turbo EK Civic in pole position. It’s apparent that this car now has a new black front bumper replacing the white one he had on during the previous races. Beside him in the EG Civic hatchback is 15-year-old Ayrton Nigel Cuesta, who was still 14 during the date of this race. 3rd on the grid is Gerard Loy in the turbocharged EG Civic, followed by Jonmark Ong in the PTCC-spec B16 N/A powered EK Civic.

And off they go!

Mother Nature has brought something different over the weekend to make the 4th leg of the race all the more interesting – RAIN! Lots and lots of rain.

The highly experienced race drivers of the Circuit Showdown crew organizers have been very helpful by providing everyone with tips and tricks on driving in the rain. As they say, “Pushing in the wet is the best way to learn car control.”

This is Tuason Racing’s Ford Focus race car. TRS driver Bobby Noriega’s car to be more precise. And by race car, I mean all-out race car.

The entire car has been stripped and gutted, and lightened for good measure. Then rebuilt to race specifications. Check out the photoshoot – inside and out.

Even the windows are made of lexan to reduce weight.

Oh yes it was another action packed weekend on the 3rd Leg of the Circuit Showdown series held at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

The Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) was created in 1996 and was a 2.9 km circuit boasting a max width of 15 meters on the Main Straight. An extension of the Back part of the race track that took place in the early 2000’s resulted in a total length of 3.5 km. In addition to that there was one more expansion made in 2004 an additional 300 meters were added to the already 550 meter long main straight for use as a drag strip.

Circuit Showdown 2nd Leg at Subic International Raceway – April 24, 2010

The Circuit Showdown Series is an ongoing track day event that allows participants to earn points and win the overall championship at the end of the series. It has both a Time Trial competition as well as a classic Touring Car Race series.

This is the second leg of a 10-leg race series. The first of which was held at Clark International Speedway. See the previous action featuring the first leg of Circuit Showdown right here at CustomPinoyRides.com.

The second leg was held at the Subic International Raceway (SIR), a 2.9 kilometer circuit with 12 turns. This place has been the venue for both local and international races. Located beside the Subic International Airport, it is 15 minutes away from Central Business District of Subic Bay Freeport and was completed in 1994.

Ah yes, the fastest non-racecar in the series. Raffy David’s Subaru Impreza was commended by living legend Kookie Ramirez, who said that the car is at the limit of what a non-racecar can be. Raffy, and his Subaru finished third, behind and in front of stripped-out race cars! WOW!
