This is a 2012 Volkswagen TDi Beetle. Not just any other Beetle, because this car is Kenwood Electroncs’ 2013 Demo Vehicle. Not only is it running a plethora of Kenwood Car Audio goodies on the inside; on the outside, it’s running a set of ROTA 19×9.5 ET20 (front) and 19×10.5 ET20 (rear) Grid Drifts.
But that’s not all. This Beetle is stanced to perfection thanks to a full Airlift Performance suspension setup and a full Independent Rear Suspension conversion allowing the wheels to camber in and tuck the tires into the fenders once lowered.
Clearly this Demo Vehicle isn’t your ordinary show car, because this car is owned by none other than Ben Chandler of Speedhunters.com – the greatest motoring blog in the world.
“Ok, so this car’s actually mine, but Kenwood Electronics has been using it to showcase their multimedia line for the most part of this year.” – Ben Chandler, Associate Editor, Speedhunters.com
When asked why Kenwood Electronics wanted a Beetle as its 2013 Demo Vehicle to showcase its extensive product line to the car culture scene? “The new model has some really sharp lines, and after a chat with our friends at Scene Media, we knew that it had a lot of potential. The Beetle is essentially a Mk5/Mk6 Golf underneath, so we knew that tuning options would be readily available. Plus, with a well-chosen set of wheels, we felt that the tornado red colour would look really well on the car. So it was the right move to get one and put our touch to it!” – Mike Edwards, Product Manager, Kenwood Electronics
