Alright guys, we’d like to put a spotlight on some of the cars that stood out to us during the recent Hot Import Nights 2 event, starting with the Honda Civic EG Sedan you see here.
This car is a project of the President of the Rizal Association of Car Enthusiasts, Inc. a.k.a. “Team RACE”. So what do you think you’d expect from the head of a group of petrol heads? No less than an award-winning show car, that’s what.
Read on to find out what “Dov Jovy” has to say about this awesome ride. Enjoy!
This car is a project car of Dr.Jovy Oligane Jr a Dentist and the President of Rizal Association of Car Enthusiasts Inc. This car was sponsored by G BASE AUTO CUSTOM and was released just a couple of months back . It won several awards like Best in Matte Paint , Best Honda, Best in Stance, Lowest Ride, Best Engine Display and currently in Metrowalk, Best in Show.
The Engine was shaved and all holes were covered, Wire Tucked , Aircon Tucked , the Radiator was replaced by an Aluminum Racing version, Headers replaced by 4-2-1 HKS Racing Headers, Struts are customized G Base struts for engine interior and rear, Free Flow Muffler, and the Battery was relocated to the bumper. All other engine components are stock. Engine shaving or engine dressing is also a modification for show cars to make the whole engine bay neat and clean. Green is favorable among many as it is a color of mint and will not easily be damaged by dirt or grime unlike lighter shades.
The interior was upholstered and the suspension system upgraded to Skunk 2 Coil Over Sleeves to lower the ride and stance especially during shows. Matte finished exteriors are a recent fave among car modifiers in US , Europe, and Japan. They may be in foil, wrap, or paint. For Doc Jovy’s car, the paint was matte finished by plastikote paint. Headlights were smoked crystallized with amber park lights and rear lights tinted by Foil Em Up. The wheels were changed to 15-inch Rota Zero Plus wheels with 55 series tires.
So there you have it. You don’t always have to have out of this world conversions and gnarly kits to win awards. Sometimes, creating simple harmony in your customizations can go a long way.
