With one of the hot topics on our Facebook Page (join us to be part of the daily conversations) being about the epicness of the Devil Z, you should check out this evil example (and I mean that in a good way) of a Datsun 240Z that has taken its epicness to more than 240 times from when it first rolled out of the showroom in 1971. Why? Because this car which was once 151hp in factory spec was given a complete powerplant makeover by swapping-in a modified turbo engine (the front-mount intercooler gives you a hint) – a Nissan RB25DET engine producing an earth-shattering 400hp to the wheels!

With all that power on tap, you’ve got to have a set of wheels that not only look good and match the car in the style department, but should also be something you can trust to deliver all that power through to the rubber, and to the ground. You need wheels that are strong yet light-weight, and look awesome. That’s where the Rota RB-R‘s (Pinoy Pride baby!) come in. Ironic, with an RB engine, and RB wheels…

With the 17×8.5″ Rota RB-R’s sitting slightly outboard, at -24 and -19 offset for the front and rear respectively, carbon fiber fender flares were called-in to cover-up the tires and give it a flush fitment with a racey feel to it. This perfectly compliments the carbon fiber hood (sitting on the roof in this photo), and flat black paint job. Oh and if you’re wonderng what those holes are on the MSA air dam, those are actually custom brake ducts used to ensure the front disc brakes have proper cooling when the car does its business on the track, $#!++ing on other people’s more modern rides.

Too bad that you’ll only get to see this car if you’re stateside. But you can see more photos and the full specifications of this epic Devil Z at Modified.com.

  1. Brian Ortiz says:

Those are not 17×8.5 those are 17×9 -13 front and 17×9.5 -19 rear. I have the same rims and he use to have 17×8.5 at +4

  2. THE aSTIG says:

Oh cool. Got the specs from modified though but if you know him personally, I’ll take your word for it. +4 is aggressive offset man! would like to see it! what car is it on?

  3. RS Speed says:

thanks for the little write up on my Z! Brian is right about the offset and rims size, I had the 8.5″ on it during the modified mag shoot but switched out to the 9/9.5 before the nesei show. One thing to note is my front offset is actually like a -25, needed spacers to come out all the way :)
