TO THIS!?!?!? (I’m sure you remember this from the last Transport Show.)
How is this possible??? Yet again, A-Toy Body Kits pushes the envelope in car customization with a first-in-the world conversion of a Nissan Skyline R33 into an R35 GT-R Drift Car.
Read on to see part 1 of the buildup of this awesome machine…
To tell you the truth, the “R35?” Glade Sport Nissan GT-R by A-Toy Body Kits displayed in the last Manila Auto Salon is the real deal. A real Nissan R35 GT-R, by which was fully blacked-out so as not to show the interior. This served as a teaser of what is to come.
Because we all know that though it is possible, it would be a tremendous task to turn a real R35 into a rear-wheel-drive-only car with all the technological gear it has onboard. And besides, someone else has done it before, as seen in the Formula Drift series in the USA.
But this is something that nobody has even dreamed of doing! To convert a totally different car, such as an R33 Skyline, into an R35 GT-R is unimaginable! But as they say in A-Toy Body Kits – “You Imagine, We Create.”
So in A-Toy tradition, they did just that.
The good thing is, they got to retain all the running gear of the old Glade Sport R33 Skyline Drift Car! So, they get to combine the best of both worlds – the under-pinnings of a true-blue drift car, and the bombshell-looks of the monster R35 GT-R.
So, without futher ado, here are the shots of the build-up.
The R33 was completely taken apart, and and is now sports fiberglass R35 body panels all over.
Fitting it all together.
The rear end.
The front. As you can see when you pop the hood, it’s still got the R33’s RB26 engine!
Finalizing the front bumper. Notice the aerodynamic front spoiler shaped like a reversed airplane wing.
It’s all fully functional!
Checking for clearance.
Painting it all up!
This is just a teaser! More to come. The finished product will be unveiled in next month’s 2010 Manila Auto Salon. See you there!
