Yes, there’s no mistaking it. What you see right here is a Rear-Wheel-Drive Honda Civic EG Hatchback, drifting across the track.

The people from the homeland of super cool tuner cars, Japan, have taken a Honda S2000′s powerplant, the venerable 9000rpm F20 engine, and stuffed it into the engine bay of a run-of-the-mill Honda Civic EG Hatchback – not in the conventional front-wheel-drive layout, but mounted longitudinally to provide power to the REAR WHEELS!

Watch the car in sideways action right here:

And to think it was almost too difficult to stand out in a Honda Civic? Well this car has done it! It is by far the coolest mod I’ve ever seen on a Civic. What do you think?

Cooooool!!! My contact in Tokyo also told me about this. Actually this econobox has an S2000 engine w/… take note… w/ Nissan suspension and Nismo parts as well (from a Silvia)! :) very very nice!!

  2. THE aSTIG says:

Yeah I heard about that too. Silvia rear end suspension, diff, and all. I wanna see what the interior looks like. I bet they had to cut a transmission and driveshaft tunnel through the middle.

  3. I truly enjoyed this. It is very educational and useful. I will return to check on upcoming posts
