Wes Tsai’s Impressive Subaru Impreza WRX Track Machine

28th of February, 2010. It was a bright sunny day at Batangas Racing Circuit, and the cars were out and ready to play. The smell of fumes filled the air, tires were squealing as a red EVO made it’s way around the track.

Along the paddock, track cars were getting ready to suck up the tarmac. From Civics to Porsches, you name it, every brand was out there with their owners, ready to test the limits of their prized machines.

Suddenly, the distinct sound of blowoff valves filled the air. The rumbling sensation of turbocharged engines overcame the crowd, as three rally-bred machines came to a stop along the pit lane. An white EVO 5, a blue late-model Impreza, and this highly-modified 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX.

This ain’t no ordinary Impreza though, what immediatly catches your attention is the missing rear wing. Not to be mistaken, as it’s clear that this was done on purpose. Check take a look at the massive restyling and purposeful reshaping of the car’s aerodynamics through the Zerosports Body Kit.

We then took off ready to burn some rubber and tear up the track. Me riding shotgun in the blue STi Philippine Touring Car Championship driver Jonmark Ong behind the wheel, and Wes Tsai in his Impreza, tackling the corners around Batangas Racing Circuit was an unforgettable experience. Tires screeching to the maximum coefficient of friction, we took the cars through their paces and lapped everyone else who was out on the track.

But if you think everything stops on the outside and under the hood, that’s where you’re wrong. The interior has been highly tuned too, as this is where all the decisions are made when you’re driving the car.
