This is a Hummer H2. You don’t see one of these babies on our local roads very often. So if one happens pass by, people take notice. But then the H2 is also marketed as an off-road vehicle! So why put 28-inch wheels in it!? The answer: BECAUSE WE CAN!
Owning a Hummer H2 makes you feel like a kid again. You know, back in the days when you were always playing the “mine’s bigger than yours” game with your peers? Well now that you’re already “bigger”, you’re playing the exact same game. Only this time, the toys just have to be “bigger”.
And after a few days of owning your toy, being your pride and joy, you start to treat as a member of the family. As you drive it, it starts to have a personality of its own. You give it a name (e.g. “Tiny”), bathe it (car wash), feed it (fuel), pamper it (detailing), and sooner or later, you will have to buy it new “shoes”.
As with humans, there’s a whole plethora of “shoes” available for your ride. And being a man of taste, of course you’d go for designer shoes for your pride and joy. And since you love your “Tiny” so much, you’re going all the way with your new present. You take “Tiny” to the shoe store, and pick the best “shoes” you can find. And viola! You’re blingin’ on 28-inchers wrapped in Pirelli rubber. Your ride instantly becomes the talk of the town, and you’re ready to bring it to the next fashion show (i.e. Car Show). In this case, the 2009 Bumper2Bumber at SM Mall of Asia.
The Hummer H2 comes stock with 35-inch all-terrain tires wrapped around 17-inch wheels. So fitting 28-inch wheels wrapped with low-profile tires isn’t a problem.

A rare 1970s-era Mercedes-Benz C111 show car has gone on display at the company’s museum at Brooklands, but it almost didn’t make it. According to reports from across The Pond, the truck transporting the vintage concept car from Germany to the UK was hijacked by criminals looking to make off with the C111. The attempt was thwarted, but though now repaired, significant damage was reportedly incurred to one of the showcar’s gullwing doors and to the front fender.
