The (EK) Honda Civic SiR is what I consider as a “keeper”. It’s the last to come out of Honda’s factory stable with the B-series engine. And by now, the car enthusiasts who are lucky enough to own an SiR has already managed to modify it to a level that is customized to their taste. Such is the case with Tetsuya Omura, owner of this awesome 2000 Honda Civic SiR.
At it’s current state, it looks like what he has done here is take a stock Honda Civic SiR, tear down to the nitty-gritty pieces, and reassemble it with the all the bolt-on performance goodies money can buy. It was done with the JDM theme in mind – better performance while retaining the factory body lines. No fancy body kits here. Everything was installed with function in mind.
Every Honda tuner knows that the best way to make a Civic faster is by weight reduction. With that in mind, the major exterior sheetmetal pieces such as the hood and trunk have been replaced with lightweight carbon fiber replacements. Carbon Fiber aerodynamic appendages have been installed up front to keep the tires planted to the ground.
The suspension is lower and stiffer to reduce body roll and improve weight transfer. This is courtesy of a Spoon Front Tower Bar, Spoon Lower Tie Bar, Spoon Rear Tower Bar, and set of TEIN Type Flex Adjustable Coilovers with EDFC.
The factory wheels have been replaced with lightweight Spoon 15-inch SW388 Wheels wrapped in ADVAN NEOVA Tires. And as all the lightweight stuff will definitely make you go faster, you have to be able to stop as well. Extreme braking duties are handled by J’s High Performance Rotors clamped by Spoon Calipers and Endless Brake Pads.
On the inside, you’ll find a vast array of performance goodies that will make you feel like a race car driver. Bride took care of the Door Sidings, and Front and Rear Seats; CTR took care of the A/C Vents, Gauge Cluster Assembly, Pedal Pads, and Shift Boot; DEFI Gauges monitor Fuel Pressure, Intake Manifold Pressure, Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature, and Water Temperature; Also found is a DEFI Link Control Unit II and Link Indicator.
Other goodies are a GReddy Full Auto Meter, Pivot Engine Start, Quick Release Wheel Hubs, SARD Shift Light, Spoon Shift Knob, Spoon Steering Wheel, Takata Racing Belts, and a TEIN EDFC Controller.
But of course, it’s the engine that you’re most excited about.
Pop the hood and before you is the B16 of all B16′s. Performance improvements courtesy of APEXi, CTR, ARC, Spoon, and GReddy and many others make up the engine bay. It’s like they’ve taken all the best parts from all the best manufacturers and bolted everything together to form an orchestra of performance parts all working in unison to make any other average supercar owner nervous just by the sound emanating from the all-Spoon exhaust system. I’ve run across this baby along Quezon Avenue, I have seen it making the tires screech way beyond first gear.

ummm… I wished the guys on fixstop just invested this much on true performance car / sports car instead.

i really love this SiR.. ive seen it before in auto junction,banawe.. it looks more aggressive in person.. im actually building up my 2000 SiR with a jackson racing supercharger till now and im planning to park my car beside this one after i had it done..=) more power to the owner and to the guys at autojunction..

Hi! I kinda lean towards king, since knowing how much was spent on this car already… you can buy a real jdm sports cars like a Silvias, S2000s, etc. But well if you do mods w/ it, again your wallet will be much damaged.
Well maybe this shop did it for marketing purposes for those boys who want to set up their passenger sedans.

Hi Chelsea, Welcome to CustomPinoyRides.com! Are you talking about the “SkyFiro” ute? Haha yeah this car is actually owned by Struan Wallace already. Ian sold it to him. They actually did it just for the fun of it! Something unique to see on the drifting competitions. It started with turning it into a ute/pickup first. But then they decided to swap the front end with an R33 Skyline for more power, and to be unique. Hence the finished product. Hahaha! Yes I know it’s crazy.

Coz I agree w/ him that why not buy a true JDM sports car instead of spending so much on a passenger car. The car itself plus all the bunch o mods can buy a used JDM sports car. But then maybe, just like I said, it’s for marketing purposes on boys who want to set up their econobox like civics, rolla, sen, etc.
