Mad Mike Whiddett, Formula Drift Pro and D1NZ (New Zealand) Champion, won the Formula D Asia Pacific Drift Championship in Thailand last November 7-8, 2009 in his Red Bull sponsored Quad-Rotor Mazda RX-7. He has come out triumphant over fellow competitors by the likes of Formula Drift Pro and D1GP Japan Champion Ryuji Miki who won 2nd place, Formula D Singapore 2009 Champion Tengku Djan of Malaysia who finished 3rd, and the Philippines’ very own David M. Feliciano of DMF Drift.
After July’s Formula D Singapore, Formula D Thailand is the second of three legs of international drift events this year sponsored by Goodyear Asia. The final leg will commence on December 19-20, 2009 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
It was unfortunate that DMF got knocked out early, but the experiences they had will surely help them best their previous performance when they come to Malaysia for the final series in December.
