The Ultimate Ride against National Disasters and Calamities

This may not be Pinoy made, but if the government may not be willing to purchase something like this (though I think they should), I believe that with Pinoy ingenuity, we can come up with something similar… Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the Aton Impulse Viking-2992 Advanced All Terrain Amphibious Vehicle.

This extreme machine was built with it’s main purpose in mind – Flood Relief Operations. Just what we need in the Philippines! This gives response teams immediate access to flood water, without having to pull out rubber boats. And take note that this is street-legal in the US and Europe. Plus it isn’t subject to our local truck ban, as it only has 4 wheels!

Aton Impulse Viking
The Viking is available in various configurations, all optional depending on what you will be using it for. But the necessary accessories which make it applicable to conditions in the Philippines are:

  • 3.5 ton Electrical Winch
  • Adjustable Ride Height
  • Centralized tire air pressure adjustment
  • Power Steering
  • Water Propulsion Unit with Floatation Unit (capable up to 15kph in water)
  • Searching Headlight
  • Fog Lights
  • Front Axle Differential Lock
  • Rear Axle Differential Lock
  • Mechanical Inter-Axle Lock
  • Rear Search Light
  • Rear Parktronic with Rear-View Camera
  • Motorola Radio
  • Additional air compressor socket for inflating rubber boats

By the way, how heavy do you think this is? Because I know you’d start to think that with such a heavy vehicle, you’d probably never get anywhere offroad and in slippery mud. Well this vehicle weighs only 1.5 tons! Compare that to the Mercedez-Benz SLR McLaren Supercar which weighs nearly 2 tons! I bet you doubted that eh? And due to its ginormous 1300x600x533 tires, and low center of gravity due to it’s centrally-mounted engine, its offroad capabilities are close to that of tracked vehicles.

On-road, this baby is capable of traveling up to 80 kph, and is the only amphibious off-road vehicle in the world to have passed through certification to meet UN/ECE regulations for unrestricted on-road use.

    Magkakasya kaya yan sa mga kalye ng de castro at pinagbuhatan?

  6. rational says:

    Too expensive probably. Right now, a thousand aluminum boats and trucks and choppers to ferry and launch them would be far better.

  7. BadShot25 says:

    How would this fare against high current? It looks pretty slow on the water.

    Magkano kaya isang gulong pa lang nyang AATAV na yan? ehehehe

  11. dennisdko says:

    its great for floods along wide avenues. i assume this vehicle will float in 9 ft of water. but how about floods for narrow streets?but how about maintenance cost?

  12. custompinoyrides says:

    Hi Dennis!

    Here are it’s dimensions (in inches):
    Length = 200.8
    Width = 99.6
    Height = 96.9
    Versus a Hummer H1:
    Lenth = 184.5
    Width = 86.5
    Height = 77
    The track width of the Aton Impulse Viking about as wide as our military reo 6×6 trucks.
    To get through narrow streets, I guess an onboard rubber boat should employed.

    As for maintenance costs, according to their website, it features high serviceability: “The vehicle is easy to maintain since support is readily available from civilian sources.” But looking at its specs, running gear is mostly from Russian Vaz trucks. So I think they mean “Russian civilian sources”.

    That’s why I was thinking that maybe the Philippines can come up with it’s own version using the features of this truck as an example. Who could be willing to come up with such a creation? I wonder if Atty. JFJ would consider having his weapons carrier used as a platform, and Toto can work his magic. Hahaha.
